Smiths News' Summer Club returns

Smiths News’ Premier Club is pleased to announce it is running its Summer Club for retailers who are based in and around towns which are seasonally affected by an increase in holiday makers. The Summer Club is designed to help retailers maximise their sales during the summer months.

Traditionally, women’s weeklies, children’s and puzzle magazines sell well over the holiday period. Therefore, increased supplies from publishers and distributors have been secured by Smiths News. This will ensure that Summer Club members will receive plenty of supplies during the holiday season.

A number of publishers support the Summer Club each year, including; Puzzler Media, Northern, Shell and Egmont and provide extra promotional signage and displays to help members increase their newspaper and magazine sales. Premier Club’s Promotion’s Executive, Rachael Stewart-Davis said:

“Summer Club is a fantastic opportunity that provides our customers with additional selling opportunities. We are helping retailers increase their sales by supplying extra copies, promotional signage and display units. Following the Summer Club’s successes last year, we are delighted that retailers Park Retail and JJ Wilson have joined the Club this year. And with major events coming up this summer, such as the Queen’s Jubilee, the European Championships and the Olympic Games, we think that this will be our biggest year yet!”

Independent retailers who take part in the Summer Club will also have the opportunity to be entered into a cash prize draw to win up to £500. The prize draw will be based on year-on-year sales increases and zero early returns. Winners of the cash prize will be announced at the end of the year.
