WorldWide Magazine Distribution Ltd (WWMD) is a joint venture business purchased in 1999 by Smiths News, Menzies Distribution, Dawson News and other major independent news wholesalers. The company supplies niche and specialist retailers, supplementing the activities of the news and magazine wholesalers.
WWMD distributes magazines to 5,000 niche and specialist retailers in the UK and overseas
WWMD distributes UK-published magazines and periodicals to around 5,000 niche and specialist retailers in the UK and overseas. Through WWMD, these retailers have access to a full range of titles, complementing their core sales products.
Sales, marketing and distribution are WWMD’s core business activities. Multiple retail customers include HMV, Pets at Home, Halfords, Hobbycraft and Waterstones. It also serves independent retailers covering all sectors including music, crafts, vintners, equestrian and chandlers.
The business is run totally independently from the shareholders’ businesses. It has office and warehouse facilities in Chelmsley Wood, Solihull and employs around 50 people.

WWMD’s ‘Logistics Solutions’ service is focused on warehousing, pick, pack and distribution for free titles or publishers direct to retail trading relationships.
Retail Services
Operating under WWMD’s ‘RetailSolutions’ brand this service offers in-store merchandising and unsold management for UK retailers.
International
WWMD’s ‘British Magazine’s Direct’ brand supplies magazines to niche and specialist retailers around the world, including the supply of USA titles.
