Smiths News and Pass My Parcel wins Retail Week Supply Chain Award

Smiths News and its parcel delivery service ‘Pass My Parcel’ has won The Retail Week Supply Chain Innovation Project of the Year Award.

The award was presented to Smiths News and Amazon along with IT solution providers NetDespatch and Blackbay at the Hermes Retail Week Supply Chain Awards Ceremony which was held on 24th September 2015. 

The award recognises Smiths News’ innovative approach in utilising its existing distribution network and infrastructure to launch Pass My Parcel, a service which offers its launch client Amazon’s consumers the ability to collect parcels from local convenience/newsagents stores, a network of parcelshops that are part of Smiths News’ newspaper and magazine independent retailer base.

Smiths News outshone four other businesses that were competing for the award and the judges’ commented how they were impressed by the way Smiths News has completely reinvented its operating approach with its innovative approach to fulfilment.

The express service delivers parcels seven days a week, 364 days a year.  It’s easy to use, consumers can simply log into their Amazon account, click on Manage Address and select Pass My Parcel from the drop-down menu. After choosing their nearest Pass My Parcel store as their delivery address, they can then shop online as usual.
