Smiths News wins four gold awards for commitment to health and safety
Last week, four Smiths News distribution centres were awarded gold status by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA).
Smiths News distribution centres at Reading, Birmingham, Newcastle and Langley were all awarded gold status, with RoSPA recognising the Company’s commitment to improving safety and minimising accidents.
The internationally recognised awards are a highly sought-after accolade across various sectors, offering the opportunity for organisations to prove their ongoing commitment to raising health & safety standards.
Will Mulheron, Quality, Health, Safety and Environment Manager for Smiths News commented -
“To obtain four Gold Awards from four submissions highlights the level of commitment Smiths News shows to safety across the business. Our consistent approach has succeeded in achieving improved standards across the network.”
The government’s Health and Safety Executive commented on how the RoSPA awards are a key accolade to promote the importance of occupational health and safety, by increasing employers’ awareness and encouraging them to manage risks in the workplace.
The Awards were presented last Thursday at the prestigious RoSPA Awards Presentation Ceremony and Gala Dinner in Birmingham, where all those involved were celebrated and congratulated on their success.
