Woo Fest is an award-winning music festival for all ages that raises funds for St Richard’s Hospice, Worcester and this year is going virtual.
Organised by Luke Simons, Account Director at Instore (part of Smiths News), 100% of the money raised going directly to St Richard's Hospice, who cared for Luke's father before his death in 2013, and more recently Luke’s father-in-law.
Luke said: "We are thrilled to share with you this extraordinarily amazing line-up from beginning to end. We have a packed day of great music planned, which includes a mix of pre-recorded sessions, guest tracks and live music from the studios at DPRG."
Although this year's Woo Fest is free to watch (no tickets required), Luke hopes to raise money through donations on the day – in the style of events like Comic Relief.
Luke continued: "We have been overwhelmed hearing people's plans for the day, including garden parties, people camping in their garden and family get-togethers. We can't wait!"
Smiths News is once again one of the main sponsors for the event, and at this year's festival is sponsoring three specific acts:
- Grant Nicholas - the lead singer of the multi-platinum band Feeder who is providing a video just for Woo Fest.
- Chimp on a Bike - a great local (Gloucestershire) covers band playing rock classic.
- Cookie Lanes - an original song writer from London who plays guitar, beat boxing and a great voice comparable to Rag 'n' Bone man.
And... Smiths News' CEO Jon Bunting is set to appear on the Woo Fest virtual stage during the pre-recorded cocktail making session, where he will be demonstrating how to make a classic mojito. Why not check out his video on Saturday, and the others available too.
