Now in its 41st year, the PPA Awards recognise, celebrate and elevate the achievements and progress made across the UK publishing and media industry.
Simon Gage, Publisher & Retailer Services Director at Smiths News, explained: “‘The Innovation of the Year category looks to recognise those initiatives that seek to maximise revenue for publishers – we truly believe our initiative does that not just for publishers but for everyone in the magazine supply chain.
“This year, in conjunction with Marketforce, Frontline and rascal solutions, we introduced EPoS based returns to help normalise management of the magazine category for large retailers. This not only enables retailers to benefit from significant cost efficiencies but also provides significant benefits for publishers and distributors too. Most importantly, by simplifying processes we’re able protect the display space in key retailers, which is vital for the economics of the whole supply chain.”
This year, PPA received an impressive 373 entries showcasing the achievements across the industry that took place during one of the most challenging economic periods in recent history.

The winners are set to be announced at a virtual awards ceremony on 23 June.
