We are delighted that 11 of our sites – Hemel Hempstead, Hornsea, Nottingham, Birmingham, London Travel News (LTN), Newport, Bristol, Newcastle, Stockport, Liverpool and Southampton – took gold in the Achievement category, celebrating an organisation’s overall health and safety performance, and commitment to safety policies and procedures.
Smiths News also won RoSPA’s Fleet Safety and Industry Sector awards for the first time.
Lynsey Tulloch, Smiths News Head of Health and Safety, said: “I am incredibly proud to be part of a team that continually drives the highest standard in health and safety for our colleagues, customers and contractors. Winning these awards is a tremendous achievement and I would like to thank everyone for their hard work and commitment. Huge congratulations to every single one of those who are dedicated to making sure that we all get home safely at the end of every working day.”
Organisations receiving a RoSPA Award are recognised as world-leaders in health and safety practice. Every year, nearly 2,000 entrants hope to win the highest possible honour in what is the UK’s longest-running H&S industry awards.
Julia Small, RoSPA’s Achievements Director, said: “This is a fantastic and well-deserved accomplishment. All our award entrants demonstrate their unwavering commitment and passion for keeping people safe at work. I would like to add my personal thanks for all the work that it has taken to secure this award – congratulations to all those involved, who champion and drive up health and safety standards every day. You are a fantastic example to others in your sector.”
